Can there be love grown if the roots are rotten?
Can friendships be strong if the foundations are made of glass?
What of the likes if they come from a sense forced engagement?
Retweets made of two-dimensional relationships.
Pictures upon pictures, false illustrations by society’s demand.
Perfection, imperfection, twins by the grand design
Everything else inbetween, is it decided by oneself?
Conditioned to portray ones flaws. ‘
Prepared to speak on our experiences.
Social media can only be skin-deep
The variety of artifical fallacies
Presented in a processed buffet
Choose your poison
Then stuff your mouth to the brim and choke

I quite hate social media and the amount of pressure it puts on everyone.
To be real, why are you this way? Is it because you hate the fakeness you’ve seen your entire life? The pictures, the captions, the edits, and lies social media spews from its guts? Are you afraid that if you lie, that lie will eventually be uncovered, or possibly, do you not see a reason too?
To be fake, why have you decided to lie? Is it because of what you’ve seen online? What you’ve heard people say, what they’ve portrayed? Do you not want to tell the truth, maybe because it’s personal or ugly or maybe because you know others may not believe it?
Tell me, do you think social media is real at all? Even when the truth is there for all to see, do you wonder whether it’s factual? The layers upon layers of doubt one will have will never go away. It’s in our human nature to doubt, to lie, to question, to seek the truth but at the same time accept the lies. Then again, what is human nature? One could say in today’s time, being surrounded by digital technology, social media is human nature personified. A product of our design, our traits, characteristics, and feelings. On the other hand, social media has molded and changed human nature. The malleability is well-suited for the internet which will always rely on the fixation humans have with curiosity and the ever-changing habits cultivated by what they see and hear.

“I quite hate social media and the amount of pressure it puts on everyone.”
Amen.
